Has the game changed much since release?

I tried to flick through the updates but there is a lot to read and a lot of information for patches.
I'm curious as someone who had finished the game, is there any reason for me to play more, or play again?

They've had 1 big update. 2 years with nothing. The game devs took the money and ran.

Not that much, food system has been updated, swamp „mini boss“ has been added, frost caves with new enemies (plus 1 new weapon, claws) in mountains have been added, some decoration items have been added.

One of the best games ever made, 2 years later, 1 small content update.... made bucks then decided they want to stay small, 5 guys making games while hashing burgers. They tease, tease, tease, then they Camelot unchained us.

Super ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sad cause this is one of the best games that have come out in forever. It'd be nice if they sold the game off to another company

It can be ruined, precious. They can ruinz it. It happens. It can stay one of the best games ever made if it's not mucked with by the wrong people. Maybe it'll just stay good. That would be nice. Maybe a sequel someday.

Roadmap Plan:

Updates:
Hearth and Home Improvements - DONE
Cult of the Wolf - DONE
Saga Worthy Seas - ???
Mistlands - almost DONE (and bigger than initially planned!)

If Odin wills it:
Multiplayer Interactions - DONE
Combat Improvements - DONE
Moon Phases - ?
Tar Pits - DONE
Vendor Inventory Expansion - comes with Mistlands (?)
More Unique Locations - partially DONE but there is room for more
Sandbox Mode - ???
Munin, Raven of Lore - comes with Mistlands (?)
Special Celebrity Guest: Gangleri - ???

Most "promised" content from the original Roadmap are already in the game or will come the next weeks with Mistlands.
Only the update for the Ocean biome is missing.

And some dare to say they had done "nothing"!

Mistlands has been "almost done" and "just around the corner" ever since summer 2021, and you have no basis to claim it's "bigger."

Multiplayer interactions have never been added.

Combat improvements have not been added.

You have no idea at all whether or not we're getting expanded inventory from the vendor with Mistlands. And again, it's not done.

How the hell are you going to claim "More unique locations" is done?

Just like everything else you've claimed about Mistlands, you have no clue if we're getting Munin or not with Mistlands.

Don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining. Almost all of the things you claim are "done" are NOT done.

Not really. They added a few things, but if you waited this long, you might as well just keep waiting. The updates are painfully slow and you'll probably drop the game again before something gets added.

Nope. If you don't plan on modding and don't have a group to play with, I'd honestly just put it on the way back burner. The devs are ridiculously slow at putting out content updates, its been a year and a half and they haven't added any of the 3 biomes they're missing (and promised), they haven't done anything to the combat, they basically threw a few skins together, tweaked the food system, added a couple building pieces and called it Hearth and Home. I really don't get it; Coffee Stain (the devs) have an amazing track record on their other games. Satisfactory is *still* getting regular content updates every few months even 3 years later, and they're HUGE every time. They def put this one on the backburner in favor of their other titles, there's just no way they can be doing such an amazing job with their old game, keeping up with their roadmap and fixing bugs within hours of them being reported, and then on their newer title they just put out lazy qol and bug fix updates and call it a day. Doesn't make sense to me unless they have given up on this game, which they havent since theyre trying to port it to xbox next year, but theyre gonna get destroyed by the community for having an unfinished game. Console gamers are not gonna wait 2 years for a content update on an unfinished game, and the backlash will be massive. So the devs are in a tight spot: theyve promised more than they can deliver and now they're under pressure to get things done before the console port, but with their "when it's done" attitude, i think the game's future isn't so bright. Just look at the difference in how theyre treating their titles; they're super transparent about the updates on Satisfactory and have a clear roadmap and goals that they almost always achieve, versus here they abandoned their roadmap and never inform the community of their update schedule or content plans. I dont think the reason for their secrecy is just to keep everything hush hush for hype sake...

I don't want to be mean, but most of people complaining about the lack of updates forget about the fact there are ten people working on it, and lots of the content they promised for this year is already here.
So, if you wanted a complete game, you should have waited till it was complete. Early access means the game is kinda raw, as Valheim actually is.

I highly suggest checking out what is available as they greatly increase the content available. New items, new enemies and bosses, filled out mistlands/ashlands/deep north, etc. How a handful of dudes in their moms basements fuelled purely by monster and tendies are pumping out quality content at breakneck speeds for free compared to experienced game devs is beyond me though. Almost like the devs got their bag and dipped. Weird, that.

Yeah, I don't get that. Every time someone mentions mods, that guy goes "mods aren't supported" as if any other aspect of the game is supported. "Use at your own risk" applies just as much to Valheim itself as it does the mods, heh.
