An update on the deer, it is still there after reloading the game and many more days in game lol.

I've been seeing it happen from time to time only managed to get these 2 screen shots while thinking about it BUT its only birds and deer. I think perhaps (due to bug or intent) creatures that can't do any damage can spawn even inside work bench range under what ever accidental occurrence.

I have a spot outside my earthen walls that is inside my work bench range that spawns deer from time to time.

I had 2 deer swimming around my base, they eventually died by trauma caused by boat, it kinda made me sad.

Wards are Love mod, you can keep them out using the ward. If that interests you.

I have had deer (and birds) spawn inside my fully workbench covered main base on 2 different worlds now.
