no point in waiting for full release. play it, love or hate it, forget it for a year or two till the next big update. it is not an mmo so it is not like you are trying to compete or stay competitive.

they should slap 1.0 with mistlands, cuz they will never finish it at this work rate.

probably at least another 2 years for 1.0.

they need to do ashlands, deep north, and perhaps oceans. as well as any other overall game design, like endgame stuff or edge of the world stuff, etc.

It's going to be in early access for a while. Play it, don't play it. It's up to you. For $20 it's decent value as is.

Valheim is literally better polished than most AAA Games at release and it's cheap. Sure, if you don't love building cool things then it's probably a pass for you and yes, it could be in development for a very long time and many of us actively playing it see no issue there.

The number of release has no bearing on when a "1.0" will happen, nor how many updates may come before it. At this point about all we know is the Mistlands still need to be bugfixed and balanced, and that there are at least 2 more biomes in development.

Let's play into your concerns with stating this:

Yes, it could very well take years. If the game in its current progressive development is not to your liking and you only wish to buy it once it has had a full release, then just check back in a couple of years or periodically to see things then. Patience is a user end issue after all.

In the mean time, there are plenty of folks that do not feel the progressive development is a barrier to their playing and enjoying the game. Perhaps then you can ease into a more flexible way of thinking about the game and enjoy as they do. However, that's something entirely up to you.
