I hate having to host my own server for spouse to join.

Hi, i hate having to host my own server for my spouse to join. when i leave the game, they can't play any more. its like uhh? what? in order to proceed i have to buy a dedicated server? how in my anus am i supposed to even set that up? O.O will they ever just let us pay for a sub or something to have our own world? because right now its not a world. its just a house that is only open to those if the door is held open.

EVERY multiplayer game with permanent worlds works like that. Either choose someone else to host the game for your group (it can be private dedicated server) or rent a professional server (if you all pitch in, it's not as expensive).

Inaccurate. Highly. there's a game called Creativerse that does not require you to go through the hoops and works to play with someone else. "if i pitch in" or "we all pitch in", uhhh i thought we did that when we purchased the game? lol. and yes, paying for a dedicated server is annoying on a real level.

Glad you found a solution, but as mentioned above it would be nice to link to what you found.

the subscription ideal is so that the company can host their owner servers that are already set up with in game menu's to adjust the content you want on your server and how you want it to run with permissions and such.

Also, here's more details about what i have discovered. Its essentially called SteamCMD and it seems that you just enter your world name in the text file and the pw and then you can launch the world however you might have to adjust some things like an admin list and such. I'm no pro at adjusting these things but like i stated this is why people would rather just pay for a sub. It's like building a computer or buying one. People that arent familiar with building a computer usually buy one pre built so they don't have to buy the additional things and set it up themselves.

All in all the issue is resolved and we could use some more features to be implemented.

p.s. my spouse creates magic when it comes to visual arts as well as animations. devs hit me up so my spouse can work for ya'll :P LOL.

If you go into your library and enable to tools filter you will see a Valheim Dedicated Server you can download and setup to run in the background. I havent messed with it much so far but im sure there are videos out there on how to get it setup

We used bluefang solutions, it was 14.95 per month but was well worth it since we had 5 or 6 of us always playing on that server. Or like Salted says, you can host your own personal dedi with a second pc using the dedicated server files. Bluefang had a decent interface to change things in the game too, was pretty easy to figure out.
