Look at (Valheim) Upgrade World on Nexus. Not using it myself, but it could be useful in OP's situation.

You don't need to start a new world, you just need to find unexplored mistlands regions, if any are left.

AFAIK, exactly this should happen to mistlands patches found before actual mistlands release - only terrain, no trees, enemies ca spawn.

Just look at undiscovered areas - you will find full normal mistlands biomes.

That could very well be the problem. It could also be a glitch. I'm sure someone has a better explanation.

It is the issue. New bioms will not render on already discovered areas.
