wellp he decided to be in one of the islands near the deep north so uh. I guess no auto generating new content there. Partially my bad too because the "Merchant finder" site told me he's in the Northeast and I ignored the other locations shown in the finder where he could also spawn. Had to go with it and kinda regret it now. sadge

Build a small protected house next to him and put up a portal connected to your main base. It becomes a non issue then.

I think you're misunderstanding something, perhaps.

Trader has many different -possible- spawning points ALL over the map.

However, the first spot that your character gets within a certain distance of(its a bit beyond actual render distance), that then -locks in- the spot for haldor for the entire map.

There is no 1km radius from start limit thus in where he will be potentially found.

Basically he appears in multiple places, and once you get within 1km of one of those places, thats his spot now and forever.
