Building stability
Idk if its just me but whatever they did to the buildings stability seems a little harsh, ive had to use so much bracing just so I can have a second floor with a peaked room. At this point I have had to start using my real life skills to try and make it work. Maybe lower the stability stats just a tad boys.

But yes i asked for a bit more too
* Max min Soil level +5m
* 6th element from Soil possible (so that this building here could be placed without tricks)

I found that angle bracing seems to work better than before. It used to do nothing but now it will change a red item to an orange.

Just raise the land with Hoe, build Wood around it so you can't see an ugly ground pole sticking out of the ground, and voila, you have your own massive pillar of support, no Stonecutter required. It's possible to use a Pickaxe to chip the pillar down until it's a small spike, which is ideal for a smaller home.

After you are in Iron age. I start building my bases in stoneage. Its really annoying that you have such a hard time to Build a framework in that Stage. And btw you cant place the Metal beams reliable into Core wood logs because you need to remove these logs to do that, and removing these logs result in a Collapsing base You can hide Iron beam inside Core wood and Darkwood :o

its tricky but once you get the hang of it, not that bad. you can get pure stone + iron beams up at least 4-5 floors, and pile wood on top of that another 3+. That is without a landspike sneaking support in, and you can do other screwy stuff too. you can make a set of landspike walls all the way around, put down rock floor as roof, and that is a finished basement and your house starts at level +1 or +2. The total has to be at least 10 floors if you mix land, stone, and wood all optimally. I get sick of walking up 3 flights of stairs, so that sort of project has been on the 'maybe if/when the game is released for good' table for me.
I have done the finished basement, took a lot of iron to get the rock flooring and I used a landspike in the middle. Its on the shore and I dug out for my boat too. I ran out of steam after the proof of concept, though.

I didn't have any trouble with building a two-story house (both floors are 1.5 walls high, roof is 26 degrees) from normal wood only.
The house is 7 by 11, and only has two full pillars plus two short ones at the top of my chimney system (which has parts built on top of the roof as well) supporting the roof. The exact same I needed for the build before the update.
