Cawing Crow in an open field with a solitary Oak.
I came upon a crow circling and cawing around a large Oak. Could there be treasure there? After some digging and coming up empty, I regrettably felled the Oak. The crow still circles there. Has anyone had this experience and/or found any treasure there? My impetus for defacing the landscape was my desire for a sword that has magical properties.

Not Hugin the tutorial, the crows that alert me to copper and tombs in the black forest.

Don't know, were there stones around this oak tree? When you see a grouping of stones that looks unnatural it's usually an ancient graveyard. they are headstones. Often times your wishbone will light up near these, you can dig up the remains and find trinkets.

Yes the few rocks around the Oak were natural looking, not one of those stone rings or a boat outline. I dug up an eight floor tile by eight floor tile square under the Oak but only went about one regular full size building wall deep. I gave up for now as I'll come back when I have an Iron Pick. I have passed the area a few times since then and there is still the circling crow.

The crow now circles over untouched grass and rock near where I dug everything up. The crow lands periodically and is above my head in the shot. I uploaded the screenshot to my profile and it's public.

What happens if you shoot the crow with a silver tip arrow?

If you want to go treasure hunting then it's about time you progressed and get your hands on a wishbone ;)
Use the wishbone to divine hidden resources such as ores and treasure... rather than rely on superstitious guesswork about why a raven might have built a nest in that oak tree and called it home ;p
What's next? Digging a huge pit in a meadow because you see the same Neck wander over there from his pond everyday?
Get a wishbone!

You mean 192.2hrs played? It shows it on your review of the game. Just an fyi I usually play this game offline and have yet to beat the 3rd Boss. My hours played is probably well beyond 1000 hours.
But no I have not noticed any crow circling an oak tree in 900+hrs here. Not sure I would notice that honestly.

That would be cool if the crow circled that area for a reason.
Developers seem pretty detail oriented, so it could be something.
Also, the game is made up of these little elements that combine in unexpected ways. So, maybe something triggered the crow to circle that area.
