De-sync on dedicated servers still a major issue.

No bandwidth 'datapersecond' variable in options (or editable by any reasonable means) .. No compression mods that work with the current version, and unplayable lag with 2 players on a dedicated server (128gb ddr4, 5950x). Is there any work arounds that work with the current version. . I'm sadly new here and checking the interwebs that this has been an issue plaguing valheim forever now, with fixes here and there that the patches have seem to 'broke'. Does anyone run a dedicated server and found a way to deal with the lag spikes and desync when two nodes (players) come together over something like a raid? I have another play I play with, having issues with low level troll attacks, They run to me (or me to them) then stuttering and desync, pretty much rage quit the game today. Losing players over poor optimization on the dedicated server, and don't even allow any server side parameters that I'm aware of to change the possible data rate limit to alleviate this, or any meaningful work done to address this issue in the past 2 years as far as my google-fu can tell.

Hello,

I feel you.
I had already run several servers, mainly for groups of 3-7 players and often fought against exactly this problem.

The main problem is a peer-to-peer driven server model which is hardcoded.
This problem is not solvable unless the devs rewrite the code from scratch.

But you can take a look here:

- read everything on the site and all the comments below to fully understand the issue itself
- extract essential information for your needs
- follow these instructions
- thank me later

Best regards/
