Hey look, new banner colours are coming!

Achivements are not so easily added as people suggest. If you don't track them by means of a database, and you don't have the specific code in your codebase, you need to add it later on, maybe causing all kinds of headaches...

That said, it could be something that is already integrated into Unity, so it MAY be fairly easy to add, who knows?

But then I don't care much either way, since I don't care about a game telling me that I have "achieved" looting 9999 berries during my play time.

thats a cop out comment "if you are complaining, make one yourself or be quiet" no, doesnt work like that, people pay money for a game, usually with the expectation it will be updated and improved with some degree of regularity, when its not, there is a right to be upset, imo there should be a cap on price for early access games on steam so people dont just put a game in early access, get their money before the game is fully done, and then abandon it, it does happen, not saying its happened in this case, but in other games it has, and thats always the fear with early access titles, granted that means you buy an early access game with the knowledge that it could happen, hence why i think the price for them should be capped at a lower amount to give game creators incentives to get their game fully developed so they can get it out of early access an charge full price

I believe they mentioned it as a possibility in one of the devs campfire videos. It isn't confirmed but I reckon it is something they could easily do in the final leg of development. Achievements are after all just simple checks to see if a condition has been met.

Too early to think about at the moment. With the current trajectory the game is still easily more than a year away from being fully playable from start to finish. Not only can they not make achievements for something that doesn't exist yet, current content is also subject to the possibility of a revision or overhaul too.

well, also you have games like dead by daylight, which are supposedly fully released, with achievements, but they keep overhauling parts of the game which make some of the achievements...unachievable, so they just remove the achievement outright instead of admitting their lack of foresight in balancing/fixing bugs in a better way, and whats worse is the people that did have the achievements completed prior, had the achievement completely removed from their steam, and theres more focus on putting out cosmetics and DLCs instead of fixing bugs, so its the exact opposite problem of what is seemed to be said valheim has, although phasmophobia started out with one person, got popular, hired a team, and is now rolling out updates regularly, granted it isnt an open world style game so its probably a little easier to manage and implement new things

No not at this time, its crazy to think they planned at release three major updates in a year and they only managed to do the small h&h update. I get they were doing balance and bug fixing early on due to its popularity, but at this point its been well over a year and still no major update.

If you look back at some of their posts its clear they over promised greatly when you can see that they had no clear vision for what these updates were going to be, which is why mist lands is taking so long. I also believe that based on my research you have 6-7 individuals who just came in to ~70 million dollars. So wouldn't surprise me that another part of the reason for the time its taking is lifestyle adjustments. Like I'm glad they are still working on it and delivering, but reality is they could easily take the money and run and be set for life. I wouldn't fault them at all, and in the end I easily got my 20 bucks worth of enjoyment out of the game so wouldn't even be mad.

Ehh, you're not ranting about it, so I won't get into any heated argument about it, but..... based on your research...? I sincerely doubt this research of yours is well grounded. Isn't there only one or two founders of IGS and the rest are employees? I've got no trouble admitting that this is highly speculative and in the end pointless, but I believe it is a mistake to assume a higher number of people in the studio got rich the spring of 2021. It may be only a couple, and the rest are working there as employees - ordinary people, like the founders, but less wealthy.


I'll use this thread to ask another question regarding updates/planned updates - Has anyone heard or found any info regarding some event or news coming? They did a AMA on reddit almost precisely a year ago and they've been awfully quiet the last few months... They must have something to reveal soon... No rumours?

that FAQ needs an update aswell... it still talk about Heart and Home... I assumed the development for the next updates would be "faster" after H&H but in reality is still slow so the bugfix priority after a year + of development is not an acceptable excuse i'm afraid...

The FAQ is up to date. The part about H&H explains why content development started later than expected. Everything from there on out is 'it's ready when it's ready'. Your perception of acceptable doesn't have any bearing on IGS's schedule, I'm afraid.
