Greydwarf Nest question...

Ok I have seen videos of people digging a hole trapping the 3 that spawn from a nest. So I dig a big hole close to a nest trap the three that spawn run back 3 more spawn.. Like ok trap those 3 run back 3 more spawn like WTF. So I trap them in the hole end of story did it like 4 times they keep spawning and it's mostly spawning brutes get two at a time most of the time had a 2 star spawn this early in the game kinda one shot me with a wooded tower shield. What am I doing wrong? Did they change it with Hearth and Home. https://imgur.com/a/XFuaOXV

there is no reason to not bust the nests. Some things are farmable if you leave the nest alone, but unless you are suffering from a severe shortage of dwarves busting it is just fine.

It depends on what your wanting to do. Do it because you have a reason or want to. But the reason is explained in this video.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3X5KGUnd8j8&t=364s I just can't seem to get it to work for me.

I did learn something from this, if to many spawn and you trap them the random ones that spawn not from the nest stop. My theory to why it's not working might be distance, maybe I am a little to far from the spawn.

i did it like this :
just make wooden floors stick to the nest until stop auto spawning in this way ( there some buildings that make with some distance but floors helps more for this thing ) , when the nest stops , make the floors cover the area you want , when you finish , start diging underground the floor but whith poles to not make them fall , when you dig the pit you want , destroy the poles and floors , the nest will stay floating and spawning , in my case just stops when they are 3 or 4 graydwarfs

As far as I know the only reason to not destroy them is that you can use them to farm wood, stone, resin and eyes as described. If you destroy one you'll get the ancient seed that is used to summon elder, but you can also get those from dropping brutes and shamans. I destroy them on sight personally, but I wish that once they were all gone the dwarves would all go away on that landmass.
