Rather than adding yet another biome to grind, could the Devs add some purpose to the game?

I really enjoyed my first few play-throughs on this game, but now that I know the game I find it to be fairly pointless to play. I have done 4 playthroughs, and can no longer tolerate doing the same old stuff, the same way, yet again.

Grind out the ore extraction from one biome, in order to grind out the ore from the next biome, and so on, and so on....

The world is huge, yet repetitively boring, and pointless to explore, as there is nothing unique to be found in the next iteration of the same biome that you just completed.

There needs to be unique places, unique loot, unique things to discover. Perhaps have different character builds or skills trees to explore. As it is, all you need to do is wield blunt, and you'll do fine for most all of the game. There is also no point to stealth.

The game was fun, but it has an amazingly limited amount of replayability because there is nothing new to do or explore or discover.

Don't expect much, some of these indie devs after some sucess the only thing they do is add content that works more like an event: a new biome everyone is excited, people complete it after 2 weeks and everything is boring again until the new update.

They don't care about variety and replayability.

I get what you're saying. I think there's plenty of content, but it would also feel more real and immersive if we had more randomized unique landmarks and mysterious things scattered around the world.

I do think they are working towards that idea with the addition of the frost caves and the upcoming Mistlands content. I'm very much looking forward to what they come up with.

That said, let's not ruin what makes this game wonderful by turning into a giant mess with too much content that's not cohesive or meaningful (looking at you, Rust)

I rather enjoy the simplistic beauty of Valheim, and the casual, relaxed atmosphere. I would also welcome any extra creative stuff the devs want to add later on.

I love the idea of more biome specific content. 👍

A new biome is good but other new stuff would be really good as well. Like more stuff in the ocean, maybe more varied burials and crypts, etc. Some more monsters, etc..

all in do time, they can't just sneeze new content into the world.
I know a ocean update was on the old road map, so surely down along the road its comming.

The best possible way to solve this problem would be:

-WAY more Places Of Interest; with many being dependent on distance from the spawn and game progression locked.
-More dungeons in "conquered" biomes locked by keys or other McGuffins that you can only get from higher tech levels, but make them only spawn far far away from the spawn.
-More enemy types in each biome with most spawning far from the world center.
-More actually useful loot; massive lateral progression in general.

If you are trying to find purpose in a video game, you are looking in the wrong place. Any video game is just entertainment, a time waster that you enjoy for a while. Just like a movie, concert or any other type of entertainment. Can you name any video game that actually has a purpose? Collecting pixels? Come on now. Get real.

Your response basically just boils down to miscommunication. OP doesn't mean real-world results from a fictitious world. OP means expanding the sense of progression in the game and making it so that conquered biomes are reinvigorated or otherwise made more interesting in later progression areas.

I think the only way to do that is to add a mix of ultra rare drops, but of what?

Different coloured items for new decorative purposes? I liked the idea of blueprints for new decorative items or different item skins.

maybe even special food recipes, there's a void of balanced food that could be filled.

Sounds like you could use a new biome, oh wait...
