Map Generation Options would be nice
Landmass Size: Random, Small, Medium, Large ( decides the scale of landmasses )
Landmass Biome Distribution: Random, One, Two, Three, Four ( How many biomes can be present on a given Landmass )
Ocean Amount: Random, Small, Medium, Large ( How much water is between landmasses )
Water Depth: Random, Shallow, Moderate, Deep ( How quickly the water depth level drops off as you go away from shore )
Inland Water Bodies: Yes/No
If Yes:
Inland Water Size: Random, Small, Medium, Large
The the seed would randomize it even more.
You could have some pretty cool maps with these options.
Just some idea's :)

I would settle for more substantial random variation. Right now, no matter what seed you enter, it's all pretty similar in terms of island size and everything. I've never heard of any seeds doing anything interesting.

As long as they leave the defaults in place and make the rest completely optional it wouldn't be a bad addition, but I like the way the world generation works, and the weather as well. It's very much a game where you simply have to deal with whatever the RNG hands you and a lot of players prefer that over having too much control over the maps.

This seems to be a game that cares about its setting rather a lot, and there's no context where some worm as-yet unworthy of Valhalla gets a say in the creation of Valheim, a place that already exists in-context. Maybe after you've completed the game and cleansed Valheim of Odin's foes would you be given a say, but I doubt you want world gen options unlocked 200 hours after the world has already been generated.
TLDR: Don't hold your breath waiting for extraneous options...

I dont think what happens on the login/world-screen counts as the ingame setting. If so, how come the "worm as-yet unworthy" gets to set a password? +1
The actual map generator make too much islands every where, oceans looks like seas.
And when you play solo you don't need all this lands.
In addition, it would greatly improve replayability. Because of course, the maps are generated randomly, but in reality they all look the same ! It's like playing permanently on the "archipelago" map in Age of Empire ! It's boring !
