Xbox controller question
Hi,
I'm considering buying this game but I notice that it has "partial controller support".
I can only play games by using a controller (medical reasons) so I'm wondering if anyone who is also using a controller could advise me if I can actually get the best out of the game using this method or if there are important things I need a keyboard for.
I did have a look at the 1st 10 pages of threads to see if anyone else had asked about this but couldn't see anything.

95% of the game you can use controller no issues. Mainly using mouse/keyboard when dealing with inventory things such as moving them around, splitting stacks & equipping weapons/armour.

I use a Xbox 360 controller and it's ok. The inventory management can take some getting used to but the general 'running around' game-play and building is good for me. You need a keyboard for character creation and naming thing like portals though.

95% of the game you can use controller no issues. Mainly using mouse/keyboard when dealing with inventory things such as moving them around, splitting stacks & equipping weapons/armour.I play with Xbox controller myself and I agree with this. I still use the mouse when I am in the inventory, as it is more convenient, but you can do with the controller only without any trouble.
To sum it up, for a game in such early phase, the controller control are pretty fine. The only thing I think is needed would be a better way to navigate in your equipped items. A radial menu would be totally awesome. I guess it will come at some point.

I've now bought the game .... hopefully I won't be useless during the fighting as I'm really just interested in the building aspect.
I played Skyrim and then Fallout 4.
I enjoyed the base building in F4 but really didn't like the environment (wasteland etc) so maybe this game will fill the gap.

What I cant figure out is why they have mapped the Xbox controller differently between PC & Xbox. It makes no sense and you are forever pressing the wrong button!!!
