Totally didn't realize I did until the first stage was complete. Of course, I built a house in a tower with a skeleton archer on the top floor without realizing for a long time.

You should read up on Norse mythology! It clarifies alot of stuff in Valheim. Its pretty interesting!

Since we're talking about strange rocks, I think I built a base on top of a troll cave. If I go in and kill the troll(s) will that keep them from respawning?

Yes, once you kill the indoor troll he will not respawn.

It's a historical grave type. A dolmen. They stood the stones as you see, placed the body in the chamber created, then covered it all in earth to create a tumulus. Over time the earth is weathered away to leave just the stones.
