Valheim Plus has an option that increases how much material you get from mining, as well as options for reduced stamina usage with pickaxes, and increased durability.

I went trough copper and iron grind around 10-15 times and in my opinion its just a horrible experience... i can't imagine starting new playthrough without a mod that reduces it thats why im asking The mod is in-game already in the form of better pickaxes.
For real though, mining copper is the worst mining grind in the game, ino. The nodes are huge and you gotta dig down a lot to get it all.
All the other mining you do is pretty easy/fast to clear a node 100%.

no need for a mod, if you just handwave in the ore you want with a console command.
or handwave in the black metal pick, and its pretty much 1-2 hit per bust until mistlands. Note that skillup with it will slow down a new character, but once you get ~50 skill its more or less as you want. New character with antler pick is a double whammy, skill and tool both low, and it sucks for a while.

Console your pickaxe skill to 100? Mods that can increase drops from mined ore (or anything)? Just spawn in the metal? Portal ore mod, save yourself the transport hassle?
I'm not aware of any particularly balanced mine buffing mod, sorry.

Veinmine has a lot of options. I like the Alt-click BOOM! to mine the whole vein at once, but there are other options you can enable if you don't just want to explode the whole node at once. You can turn on the Progressive mode, Spread Damage, Radius, and adjust the damage type so that you harvest slower but still eventually get the whole node mined.
It does all the things you want.

It can be tricky, but yes. When you pickaxe a piece of any big rock any parts that are left with no direct connection to the ground will detonate, and it treats being *under* the surface as 'not connected' as well. You see this happen accidentally sometimes with silver. hello what do you by burying all? is this by using a hoe to make the ground raise? if so, then if I were to bury everything except for a portion of the vein then mine it will cause the rest of the veins to collapse?

How far are you going to drag your cart? That is one of the biggest issues. The more ore in the cart the heavier, and you will need to make a road. So it is a tradeoff between how much you can carry and how fast you can return it to smelter.

Why are you transporting your ore? Just find a Copper node at the edge and build your base there. Way faster than transporting.

Copper from one node is probably not sufficient for greater builds. I would never build my main base too far from sacrificial stones, but it can of course be cool to have them on Plains or somewhere. But Black Forest? That's just troll bait IMO. :p

Unless you've scouted extensively and found a whole lot of copper nodes that can be a big waste of time.

waste of materials.
bring your spare antler (s) and repair them with a crude bench & roof setup until you get an upgraded iron (best there is)
I usually find it pointless to mine more than I can carry out. Even an antler pick will last that long usually. But if you insist, a repair station is better across the board. even if you need to make a forge to repair, the key is: you get the materials back when you tear it down. A second pick is materials lost forever once you don't need it anymore.

I set up a base to refine copper where there are a lot of nodes so I don't have to transport it all. Why bring the mountain to Mohammad?
In terms of pickaxes you can save the resources and just bring the antler and repair that with a regular workbench on site...
But really if you set up a base around 4 or 5 close nodes you can run a load back and toss it in to process while you repair and get another load.
Much faster to process the ore while you are digging it out rather than just standing next to it constantly keeping it going. Multitask makes things easy in this game.

That kinda depends on what your priorities are, how many veins there are, what means of transport are available to you and so on...
It may be more convenient to try and progress to iron items instead, and then come back for more copper. :) It's what I'd do.

I usually don't, one pick is good for one trip back to the boat or wagon, unless you're bum jumping

I use the antler horn pick when collecting copper early game, even if I have a copper pick, because you can easily set up a workbench nearby and repair the pick and store stone and ore in a chest until you have done with the node.

Dig under the copper deposit and it will serve as shelter where you can put crafting stations to repair your stuff.

Burying all but a tiny corner of the deposit and mining that can cause the whole thing to detonate at once, using very little pickaxe HP.

hello I appreciate all the response I get, I have a cart to transport resources, when I found a copper ore veins I first dig the sides of it making a big deep trench in-circling the veins until i hit the water or I cant dig any lower, that's my queue that the bottom of the copper vein I am currently has been reached, then I started to mine the actual ores, I found it also a good strategy against trolls as they never try to cross it.
Doing that with only 1 pick axe is tough on my side, hence, I am seeking opinions if it is beneficial to bring atleast 2 pickaxes to do mining..
I just read about doing workbench and using antler pickaxe sounds great advice.
normal mobs like those grey something wont attack cart right? I am thinking of parking my cart near the veins but outside the trench
