Don't fish.

It is not needed to progress so if you do not enjoy it don't do it.

But many players like to fish just for the sake of fishing.

Im sure there will be more recipes added at some point. Try fishing all the way up the biomes and see if you can make anything new

angler fish bread... 90 stamina iirc

There is a sickness amongst some people who play games. They like to fish in videogames. I don't get it. Goes back to the PS2 and Dark Cloud 2 where there is a mandatory fishing segment to progress. Any time I see a fishing mechanic I scream internally. (tho prior to mist valheim's wasnt bad)

I think it's just something to do. I only use the basic bait we had pre-update and combined with fish jumping in my boat or on shore I'm stocked up with Fish Wraps anyway.

There are recipes that unlock when you level up your cauldron and catch the right fish. The recipes require exact UNCONVERTED fish species to make. NOT 'raw fish'. This may expand in the future.

Well since the fish can jump right at you while you quickly grab them on shores and rafts and whats best is that the ranking system of fish depends on the numbers gets you certain amount of raw fish meat.

So the point is dumb at this point till an update doesn't allow fish to jump near shores or near a a moving water vessel, lol.

I'm guessing this will become more useful in an unreleased update. As of right now there is only one food(stamina) you get from progressing through the fishing tiers and that food is largely ignored because "Salad" exists and is very cost effective.

I meant the next biome fish give the same raw fish as the first tier, so what's the point in advancing fishing into other biomes if they give me nothing unique/useful that Meadows doesn't give me?

I'd say mainly just for decoration and role-play purposes. Higher quality fish are larger, and then all fish can be placed on item stands so you can display them on your walls, or placed on a table for cosmetic feasts.

Not having to go back to the Meadows to fish? There's more fish available. And as another poster said, quantity of raw fish the different types of fish produce varies.

Lots of people enjoy fishing mini-games. If it's not your cup of tea you can skip the entire process. I like fishing in games but before this update it was a very subpar experience. Now there's more fish, biome specific fish and bait, and the mechanics are much improved. Sometimes the activity is the reward.
