I have an old save from when the game launched. Do I have to start anew, or can I use it?
I read that they changed the way worlds generate a while back. Can I just transfer all my stuff to a new world? Do I need to make a new character, or can I play in my current world just fine?

you can take your stuff to another world if you want to have a freshly spawning world around you, my old world wasn't spawning new things, so I did. I kept my old world in some shape due to plains farming, as I had a really swank farming spot for the plains. I am finding all sorts of ice caves in my new world and abominations. It is just a matter of self reflection whether you should start over or not...

How about you try?I did, but I don't know if the changes to world gen apply to a previous world, or whether new items will be available in said world. I'd rather ask someone who knows, instead of wasting multiple hours to find out.
