worth playing or wait?
havent played this since around its release and really enjoyed but stopped becuase i felt i was progressing too fast and wasnt much content, have they added a lot or should i wait for more updates?

I'd wait, nearly 6 months of tweaks and still no real content in the game yet.
Wait till xmas sales, and see then, as game has huge potential, but is up to the devs to to make it happen.

It's going to take several years for them to finish the roadmap, so up to you on that one. Final game should be about double the content that it has now, unless the roadmap changes significantly.

The game has gone from playable with occasional crashes to unplayable with constant crashes involving two .dll files.
