Can we play Valheim on a Nintendo Switch?

Is the switch able to handle Valheim, if so can we see it on there anytime soon?

Probably if you use the Android installation hack to run GFN. The Switch is basically an Nvidia Shield Portable 2.0 internally, and the original Shield still plays modern Steam releases via the GFN service.

It all depends on the studio porting it. Saying this and that works on switch or ps4 doesnt mean much. Since there are really demanding games working on switch. Meanwhile some trash titles have the performance of a turd on the switch sooo.. everything is possible depending on the skill of the guys who try to port it.

Like you do see some versions of modern games making their way to Switch like The Witcher 3 and Apex Legends with very compromised graphics and performance. And the Switch version of Dark Souls Remastered was the only one that kept the original games models and textures unlike all other platforms.

But Valheim already compromises on graphics a lot, and there is typically a lot more calculations going on in these procedurally generated games which are more tricky to compromise on because they are fundamental to gameplay.
Take the way that the game handles 'instances' for example. I'm sure they would need to either optimise that to a fraction of the burden that it currently causes, or limit the players ability to perform large scale building/terraforming. Currently it can bring noticeable performance drops to even the more powerful rigs.
No Man's Sky is procedurally generated and runs just fine on the ps4. Which makes me think that a ps4 could easily handle Valheim.

Not sure about hardware, But I believe they said if the game were ever ported to anything else it'd likely be after it comes out of early access.

Nearly every AAA seems to have been ported to Switch, so yes, Valheim can be. The big question is if the devs think it is worth it. If they do any ports after EA ends I'm sure they'll start with Xbox and/or PS first since they would probably be easier.

well the Switch is not capable with its GTX920MX comparable GPU / CPU
u see that when u get it out of the dock ... it normally switches to 720p resolution

Valheim is not well optimized yet ... i highly dought it will run on a Nitendo Switch...
On a PS5 ... well im hopefull
