Why is bronze so f*cking useless?
Armor(don't forget the -10% movement speed) is not any better than troll hide, you don't need a bronze pickaxe to mine scrap iron, bronze weapons are not a huge improvement in comparison to flint weapons (especially the needed amount of bronze).
You may only need some nails and some copper for the forge. Why is bronze so useless?
Bronze is @ss.

Disagree. You have to stand and fight in the swamp biome and a mace is a must. Yes bronze IS sturdier than troll armor when fully upgraded, especially if you have to absorb some hits. A bow is fine until you get swarmed; skeletons don't make a lot of noise as they creep up on you, but they don't have a lot of resistance to a mace in the face. Shield and mace kept me alive as I got to know the swamp. I had no issue whatsoever with the slower movement sped as I paused every 10 seconds to stop, look and listen.

Bronze Atgeir begs to differ, it can easily carry you to the plains if you learn how to use it and then is still useful for harvesting barley and flax. bronze weapons are not a huge improvement in comparison to flint weapons
Edit: though i would like to see more decorative build pieces with bronze as cost.

Hard disagree. If you focus on parrying you won't need to stand and fight. Draugr are much more dangerous than some skeletons. The Troll hide armor kept me secure enough. I don't need to waste hours upon hours collecting tin and copper only to make the bronze armor, which is barely bettter than the troll hide armor and is already outclassed by the iron armor.

You don't even need all iron armor, as just the helmet gives enough of a boost in armor, along with the root harnesk, which can carry you through the plains

I see your point. The Atgeir is really good, but you can just skip the bronze Atgeir and craft the iron one, don't you think? I've been using the spear and got through most of the early areas even the swamp.Bronze Atgeir begs to differ, it can easily carry you to the plains if you learn how to use it and then is still useful for harvesting barley and flax. bronze weapons are not a huge improvement in comparison to flint weapons

Disagree. I'm an archery-focused character, and the only "stand and fight" I do is to parry/obliterate Draugr... who are usually already on fire because I'd rather kill things where they don't get to swing back at me than let them into kissing distance.
The only bronze you need is for an axe (although I like to add a buckler)... possibly an atgeir, if you like that fighting style. My playstyle keeps me from interacting with more than 2 or maybe 3 mobs at a time, so the AoE provided by the polearm is worthless to me.
Fine wood bow and fire arrows for the win.
That being said, I apparently pay a lot more attention to my surroundings than some others do; your mileage may vary.

Bronze armour is an utter waste of bronze, as is bronze pickaxe, agreed.
Bronze mace, however, is really good, and so is the buckler if going for mobility (which I always do). Atgeir is great, yes, but I don't like two-handed weapons so never make one.
Bronze axe is definitely a must, yes, unless you really, really like troll labour.
There is no need to stand around and fight, in the swamp or anywhere else, when bows, light armour, and dodging exist. Even against abominations I don't stand still; I dodge and strike, dodge and strike, etc. etc.
Root armour rocks, yes, outside of frost caves. In frost caves, it gets you killed.

Bronze isn't meant for huge weapon/armor upgrades, although they do exist and primarily for utility.
Full bronze is good for first play as many will like the extra armor in prep for swamps or may not be able to handle trolls w/o bronze. For experienced players only specific pieces are used depending on playstyle and troll armor is the place holder until their next set.
Immediately I think of the atgeir, sword, mace, spear, and buckler for melee builds. Axe for all types and pickaxe is nice to speed things up a bit. That's a fair bit of very useful gear! If you're a bow build, then this may not seem too exciting though.
The big use is for utility items: the cart, farming, cooking, fermenting, and particularly the karve. Useful again later for Lanterns and Krom.

Bronze buckler, bronze sword, bronze atgeir, bronze axe, cultivator and cauldron (and the karve!) are all great improvements that come with the bronze age. And while bronze armor has a speed penalty, it is actually a lot more protection than troll since you cant upgrade troll to the max lvl in the bronze age (I still use troll armor though since it is enough and I don't like the speed penalty)
Sure you can skip much of the bronze age. On the other hand, if you don't, you can skip much or the iron age instead.

It's not only that, but it can also be upgraded fully at an earlier stage than the troll armor Of course heavy armor has more armor rating than light armor

The only tool you may need, would be the bronze axe...

I agree, but it has a lot more use when making multiple bases or decorating your existing one
