I still don't even know where all these other biomes are. I have only seen meadows and black forest.

After black forest, you go to swamp, but you will likely encounter mountains before then as every black forest has a mountain at the center (at least in my experience), that being said don't go there until you have visited the swamps. As for now progression goes meadows/black forest/swamp/mountains/plains. There are other boimes but they are empty until more content is added. You might not find all biomes on your starter island so sailing is key to discovering new areas.

I am number two which made me come here and see if other finds the super short range of fog of war clearance a nuisance. I started to play a little Vanheim again today en and boy exploring which is such a huge part of the game is a pain.

Me: - "I can clearly see a island over there, and beyond it a new big landmass. This a big oecan"
The map: - "You've discovered some water"

The range of fog of war clearance needs to at least be doubled, if not tripleled

First, I explore the coast and get an outline of the lay of the land.
Then, I explore the interior as needed

Yes I will pursue tiny irrelevant spots of fog just to clear the map.

That does not qualify me for Obsessive compulsive disorder. I just like to clear the map.
