Most Underrated Defense?
We found this island that felt like it needed a nice beach resort. A little get-a-way from the excitement of Viking life. To get a “beach look” we decided to lay a temporary line of wood poles and use the hoe and cultivator to shape a nice straight beach.

While I’ve tested this “line of poles” as a defense possibility, I’ve never seen how it performs against a Fuling horde.

We have some Wards as decoration that are lighting up here.

Starting to rain. Shaman and Lox? No problem.

Actually, on the left, the Lox and Berserker did eventually make it over, which does happen (it just happened to start storming) when the waves get high enough. We have a valued structure just “off screenshot” that I had to pull them away from before I introduced them to the atgeir and I never got to see the rest leave.

Yeah, any straight vertical surface is too much for most monsters as they can't climb. Don't let your stairs touch the surface either and nothing can use it. Flying things are exempt from this.
Yeah, nothing quite like a deathsquito flying around inside your building structure while your cooking some onion soup. Any idea how small an opening is needed to block them?

Try corewood logs on flat ground too, I had great results with a zig-zag. Fuling may be tough, but those short legs limit them.

So the edging of wood is creating a sort of small lip, that they just can't jump or climb over?

yeah so far only Blobs can jump i guess.. so either it flies and ignores everything, or it's stuck to the ground and can't traverse some pretty trivial stuff..
