Should feathers for arrows/bolts be phased out mid/late game?
Should they? I've been running around with a aetgir/crossbow build for some time now and feathers aren't really replenished in a good way. They can of course be farmed and collected like in early game, but in this case I think they've served their purpose, unless eagles/condors could be introduced in the Mistlands as a good but more dangerous source.

Medieval style crossbow quarrels used wood, leather, rawhide, or feather vanes.

The only time I have a shortage of feathers is when I get lazy and stop shooting the gulls, shooting the ravens, and chopping trees. Using 2 feathers per 20 aint much demand.

Chickens exist. All the feathers you will ever need. Of course they can "be replenished."

Good arrows and bolts should always require feathers. Maybe there should be a 'wood bolt' tier below bone bolt for crossbows that does not require feathers.

My bad, I'd assumed you already knew, else I wouldn't have been such a butt.
I, too, think different fletchings could be a cool idea, but I can also see how it would add needless complexity. With your feather issue now, imagine if we had to get different ones.
