I play this with my partner regularly. Soloing is absolutely doable, and enjoyable though. It's great fun for an Early Access game.

Short answer: yes

Solo is great.
It's well balanced in terms of enemies etc for solo play so no issues there.

A majority of my play has been solo since I don't like playing with randoms lol It can definitely be more fun with friends but I've spent hours and hours just playing by myself

Multiplayer doesn't really mount the main obstacle of playing solo, which is the grind. Much like other builder games the only real thing you'll be missing out on is showing off buildings to each other.

I'm playing solo so far no problems , if you play multi theres more stuff to craft for each person anyway, the upside of playing multi is that someone might rescue you if you get stranded

I've only played as single player and I enjoy it a lot. So far (second boss done) I feel like it's probably the best survival game I've played so far with LOTs of possibilities. So yes, you can definitely play in solo and in various playstyles.

My experience, so far, is that it's not that bad of a single player game.... you're just going to be spending a lot of time traveling. It's a bit like minecraft, Dark Souls, Stardew Valley and Skyrim had a child together. So, there's plenty to enjoy as a single player - but I can see how the gameplay loop would greatly benefit from extra hands. Once you get to ore processing, you really need miners exploiting an area and runners carting material back with people staying at home to keep the products coming. It's all possible to accomplish alone - just... a lot of time running back and forth across the map.

Though I have yet to really play multiplayer - so I can only guess what that looks like. So far, for me, the bosses and major battles have all been possible as a single player if you're making sure to not try and be too dedicated to one play style. I would argue archery is more universally effective than physical combat, but it does become necessary to adopt contact forms of combat for progression at least once.

As stated by others, both single player and multiplayer are great.

my friends convinced me to play this game 4 days ago, so I bought it cause it was cheap and looked nice and is being updated, I've put 30 hours into the game and haven't touched multiplayer even though that's the reason I bought it. This game is extremely fun and relaxing, and in my opinion is a perfect single player game and is as good single player as multiplayer. Definitely worth solo.
