You can stack workbenches on top of each other if you want, as many as you care to. There's no reason to, but you can.

You should verify your game files to make sure it's not a bug.

Dunno where you read that, but you can make as many as you want, as far as I know. I've made way more than 8.

Do you mean your menu will not show the bench? I don't know. Once a recipe shows up in your menu, I have never seen it disappear again.

To build the workbench you must have the ingredients it requires (wood and stone? or just wood?) to build it. You must first make a hammer by clicking tab, then equipt the hammer and right click switch to the second tab (I think) and there should be the workbench there, if it is greyed out you can hover or click it to see the ingredients it requires.

There is no limit to workbenches; I have built hundreds.

For the game to consider something "a base" where you get raid attacks you must have multiple objects within close vicinity of eachother (my memory wants to say 3 but I dont truely know, also no idea what exact objects).

I am yet to come across any information that has said only up to 8 locations can be raided. You are the first to mention any type of limit and being a big modder of the game myself I don't really think they have put limits on max objects, pretty much go for gold until unity/your pc can't handle it anymore.

To repair items you need a housed workbench so you can interact with the bench and craft other items. Hammer icon upper middle will repair all items at no cost.

You can build as many bases or outposts or whatever as you want. Making large villages is kind of only for show and can slow down the area rendering. But you can have as many bases in different places as you please or run out of trees ha ha.

I thought you could build a secondary(or more) bas out of range of the first work bench. Is that correct?

Tab menu lets you make a hammer

Pay attention to what the crow tells you, you can go back and check by hitting the crow icon in the tab menu.

Also, not aware of a limit to bases. You can build as many shacks, outposts, and bases as you want.. Just drop more workbenches wherever..

You need a workbench to make building parts. You can have as many workbenches as you want. They are only ten wood each.

I have one base set up but it's way off in now where and in exploring the island i found a better location, unfortunately on the side of the land mass.

Once you make a building you don't need the workbench there ... but they are handy to prevent spawns in their radius.

Wait, are you saying the workbench isn't available from the hammer menu?

'Cause you should be able to just plop down a new workbench wherever you want to start building.
