if you've legitimately explored 1/3 of your world, you've explored a massive amount, lol.

I myself wouldn't give up on a seed you've made such an enormous investment of your time in. I spend a lot of time faffing about in boats, I like the exploring and mapping thing, I've removed about an 8th of the hated fog, you're an inspiration.

Why do you ask people on the internet questions that you can answer?

If you don't want to start from scratch you can load up your character and bring whatever you want to the new map.

I recently started a new seed but I also started a new character and I'm having a blast going through the game a second time.

I changed things up like not sleeping at night and the weapons I use. I highly recommend knives.

Plus I finally get to utilise the lower tier foods hearth and home added.

We didn't get this fancy deer stew when I was a newb! In fact all meat was just called meat.

its really up to you. Note that the outer ring, if explored, will make updates to the last 2 biomes fail, so you want to not go there.
1/3 is a lot of territory, and it may be time to see something new.
partly depends on how attached you are to your homes and favorite bashing locations, or if you want to explore and wander at random and are running low on places to do that.
You can always go back and forth... so a new seed isn't like you deleted the old one or anything.

"Original" from when? Depending on how long it's been there's been several changes to various mechanics, in which case I'd suggest starting from scratch and seeing the current game experience. It's not like you have to delete your old world or character either, so you lose nothing but time.

Yeah good points, thank you! My seed is over 12 months old...not sure exactly. I do go back and forth, so starting anew isn't a problem. Just curious if it's worth it, but as you said, that's subjective. I like the idea of having "fresh" territory, and my building skills are improving, so I new Base would be nice. Thanks again!

For me the game is done in the iron age. I found the plains and related items boring. So I get my base finished off with stone and go play NMS till I have S class upgrades everywhere then come back here. With an occasional stop in CIV V.
