Valheim doesn't start since update
Hey everyone,
Ever since the update I can't seem Valheim to start. When I press start, nothing really happens and the blue Steam ''Playing'' button just resets to the green ''Start'' button. Does anyone know a fix for this? I already reinstalled and validated the integrity of the game files but alas...
My system is the following:
CPU: AMD 5800X
GPU: GTX 1080
RAM: 32GB G.Skill Trident Z Neo Dual Channel, Dual Rank @ 3600MHz
SSD: 2TB 970 Evo Plus
OS: Windows 10 Pro
Thanks in advance!

Hey if you hadnt previously updated to H&H then the "start of your first game take a long time " its in H&H notes somewhere because the game interrogates your worlds among other things and rebuilds files (insert technical words here :-) ) so start game click update and go watch a movie (not tiktok they too short! ) G Luck

You can try a clean install. That should get rid of any corrupted or modified files, old mod residue, etc.
Uninstall the game via Steam, then go to the install directory, default should be:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common
If there is still a Valheim folder, delete it manually (this will not affect your saves, they are stored somewhere else).
Reinstall the game via Steam.

I'm having a similar issue. It'll load and I actually get into the game. I can see myself standing in my bedroom but the game freezes at that point - every single time. I reboot, I uninstalled, and reinstalled, but same thing. I emailed IronGate and they said they are working on a patch to fix it, but NO IDEA when it will be done or if it will work.

Asking the obvious question...
Do you have mods installed? If so, take them out, do a clean install, and then try again.
Are you trying to open with the Vulcan option? I know that sometimes stops it working for me too. When I install the game, I say yes to having an icon on my desktop so I am not messing with Steam when I open it.
