What could have been Valheim
Not starting a New World vs Valheim thread. Pointing out the obvious. Valheim has been in development for a long time. Why didn't the team ever make it like New world? This is what frustrates me about valheim. You feel gated, not enough resources and short lived. After two betas and now playing live. I always think to myself. "Why couldn't Valheim be more like New World." Not in a sense of MMORPG but continue the action adventure it is. There are so many resources in New World that will keep you engaged for many months and years to come.
New World is what Valheim should have been. I've stressed this out before in the past about lack of resources. I will continue to play valheim only during updates and no more than a day. I hope this game changes for the better.

Ah, yes, Amazon totes isn't doing a pretty pump-and-dump or data harvesting scheme...

I don't see the connection. Valheim is an evolution of co-op survival crafting games, heavily flavored by LoZ: Breath of the Wild. New World is a WoW-clone throwback PVP MMO. A direct comparison between them is about as illustrative as between a Christmas ham and a box of Pocky.

So you suggest that a 5 men indie team should approach a game like Amazon do it with their Flagship game ? Why didn't the team ever make it like New world?

"What could have been Valheim" If it was a different game and a product of a company valued at $1.6T.

When you play New World which currently beat Valheim in the most peak players of all time. You realize Valheim is ****** for combat.
So a brand new MMO financed by a super-corporation, is more popular on launch day than the small-studio indie game that is still in beta. Comparing the two is like comparing Dark Souls combat to New World and saying New World has trash combat.
Not the first time the OP has tried to toot this particular tone-deaf horn.

Besides the crafting and combat, there isn't much of a comparison.

What possible motive do you think the devs have for goofing-off?
The game for which you pay $20.00 is currently version 0.202.19. If the devs are sincere in their versioning, they think they are about 20% of the way to the finished product. Which will be everything you ever wanted in a game and will not cost twenty bucks.

Yeah, bro.
A 5 man indie team should totally be able to put out as much content as a giant studio of hundreds of people funded by one of the richest corporations in the world. Riiiiiight.

Nevertheless, they made mostly a lot of noise.
It's a poor game where you have to entertain yourself with PvP, as the rest of the connect is microscopically small.
Valheim is cooler. And in terms of value for money, a hell of a lot cooler!

Yes, yes, a completely empty game. Looked it up on the test and there's no reason to go back. New World? That souless game without imagination, without progress, without ideas, without graphic?

*looks at new world with bad reviews, bad gameplay, and uninspired concept. okay, bro
