How I handle my Lox
So I haven't uploaded all the stuff and the fortress I have for home cuz it's not my style, but I think this post will help some people.
1st way to handle is in the photos below, notice some spots I left open on purpose, so goblins enter and die, without lox having to hit and break walls and I still get the free loot.
2nd way, typical digging around to make a huge enough trench while raising the ground so lox won't drop down.
Always make sure it's a big enough area so they multiple, I even kept some cloudberries growing inside the pen.
(Hanen't been able to cap screenshots with Steam, nothing seems to work for me.. )

In about 2 weeks (game time) after I transitioned to this style, not one Lox has been found stuck in one place. Do the corners and baffles around the entrances stop them jamming their face into the gap and staying there all week? That's my general experience of Lox in any enclosure that's not a perfect unbroken circle.
But I only leave 1 wall-length gap, if it's 2 or 1 and a bit (if you place them with shift without following strictly the wall placements) then they get stuck and stuff as far as I've seen.

Compared to not leaving open spots for goblins to enter, they barely do any dmg to walls, I haven't seen a destroyed wall so far, especially with the external workbenches, I don't have many enemies come near. Personally I'm a fan of just breeding them in the open so the whole region is all friendly beasties all the time. Does their AoE combat style not inevitably wear down any structure they fight inside?
Liking the workbench archery stations, that's a really neat border wall.
