yes; it's still a challeng. and the combat changes to shields makes it a little tougher if youre not playing strategic as a rougue or with a tanky shield as a fighter

Just, don't stay outside? Rush into a crypt ASAP, the turd piles block off rooms and you can mine them down enough to shoot a bow through but enemies won't be able to path to you due to leaving some turd pile to block them.

By shooting enemies in the next room that can't even get to you, you can easily clear them out. Just run scrap iron back to your boat and ignore everything outside until you get full Iron Armor.

Good thing is sausages are more cheaper now , 1 thistle when before cost 4
4 entrails 1 thistle 1 boar meat = 4 sausages
Now the best food for swamps :
Hp+hp+stamina
Sausages + black soup ( or serpent soup if u can hunt them ) + turnip soup
Or
Hp + stamina + stamina
Sausages ( or serpent soup ) + turnip soup + muckshake

Use deer god buff when running too and from your boat, don't stop for anything and I assure you enemies won't catch you. Having good stamina food should be a given anyway, what with all the mining you'll be doing in the crypts.

All your time in a swamp should be spent in a crypt with as little time as possible running to and from your boat to load up with scrap iron. Once you have full Iron gear, THEN consider hunting the swamps surface for materials.

With poison resistance, leeches and oozers are a joke. Wraiths and lvl2 draugr are what you should be worried about when beginning in the swamp. A bit of stealth and a good health combo will keep you alive

I only found swamps bad my first time ever when I didn't know to take poison resistance Before getting poisoned, and I sat on the store and died a slow sad first death.
