So for new Biomes coming up
Will you need to start a new world to get them? Or will it be compatible with current worlds. No biggie either way, just need to know how much to dedicate to a world

Ah, OK, thanks for the clarification. I'm not a great architect so I don't mind starting over but I can see why some people would want to wait in that case.Basically OP is asking if future updates would make that impossible to do as the world would not work anymore. You can always invest in your world and when the new biome comes up make a new world and "teleport" your character there and then make a more rudimentary camp to explore the new biome. Then when you're done exploring you can return to your "homeworld" with whatever items you gathered there.
Or just leave an unexplored area in your current world for the future.
The last thing I want to hear from the devs is "we wanted to put this cool thing in but didn't since it could mess up peoples worlds" ... Especially being in Early Access the devs should feel no qualms about making big changes even if it destroys peoples worlds.

So far they have been able to change things and let maps update as best they can in unexplored areas.
But being an Early Access game you should expect that you need to start a new world at any time.

Yeah that's what I figured, and again I don't mind either way, but I don't want to overly dedicate to a super-structure and then have to redo, so I'll keep it small, Thanks.
