long road, on water.

Attempting a 500+ day-old corpse run. I hope it is still there. It will be crappy to go all the way out, and not find the gravestone. He should be carrying my first ever Surtling Core. And Yellow Mushrooms, maybe. Bone fragments. I forget what all else. One-shot'd by a Deathsquito a week into playing this new map. Before I saw the seed reader.
This is my only remaining corpse that I know of definitively. Let's hope it pans out well.

Best of luck. One of my earliest tombstones still exists. I used it as an inventory overflow depository early on then forgot about it. I was running along the other day on my original land mass, and lo'n'behold, it is still there from around 150 days ago.

Is that stuff your recovering even valuable to you anymore after 500 days? Or does it just feel like an 'unfinished business' thing?

I don't think my longest world reached 400 days. I exhausted every activity and I needed to stop before I started talking to the mobs.

i've not done the most important part quiet yet. I landed successfully stood up the portal a table and a fire. But, that does not indicate an easy road ahead. I was able to clear the BC with my main. I path-ed over a lot of adjacent BF soil. To mitigate the BF mob porting. And to push away their grasp on the land there. I am going to attempt to locate the gravestone with the main, and if it looks all clear JoJo will make the recovery. I have very low gear and most anything will one-shot me. A noticed a pair of Lox to my left, I dare not antagonize them. More than likely JoJo from the Fort will construct my first Karve, sail it out, mainly so I can recover a small(4) viable stack of tin I want. But also to drive it get used to it. Then I am not sure what. The large stone model just beside the BC is calling to me to dig out a hideaway beneath it. I'm considering it. No need to scrap the portal just yet. It may end up being an important locale.

This was my great journey to find the elusive Vendor. Before fighting Bonemass I wanted to get this location so I initially started to circle around my main island and docking at any Black Forest that I could find to explore it.

Eventually I headed North West where I ended up dying when I wandered too close to the Plains while forgetting to fully equip my Root Armor. 2 Deathsquitoes did me in - thankfully I always set up a portal so recovery was rather easy.

Hit the Deep North where I decided to then head south where I finally found the Vendor. Set up my portal right by him and then sailed home without event. At one point I killed a 2 sea serpents one after the other while using the longboat. Karve probably wouldn't have survived.

It has been my experience when searching for Haldor the vendor, all one has to do is sail close enough to the island he is located on and a bag icon will appear on the map disclosing his location. When one gets close to an island while searching for Haldor, open the large map regularly until the bag icon appears. Sailing around an island he is located on will make the bag icon appear on the map, no need to land and search an island on foot. Sometimes the bag icon does not appear on the mini map, until the fullscreen map is opened when one is in proximity to the island he is located on.

well i get you, simply put I really have no clue exactly what is on it. But I owe it to JoJo the Dancer, and I owe it to myself to see it through. I got him killed, lets bring him home.
Some honor, dignity, and respect.

I do intend to try out the Karve, JoJo will at some point construct it and pilot it here, either I will dismantle and haul it all away, or make some sort of retreat, or burrowhold. Really depends on the fallout of that next 20 min.. Or where ever exactly the grave is. They are both actually is stasis at the Burial Chambers, Samii on point, with a log and a save if things get sour, and JoJo pulling my ace. He will be fresh, well fed, well provisioned, &suitably armed. Not ten feet from where Samii(my main) is saved at. Both just on the shoreline. With JoJo saved by the furthest edge, on the interior, just behind the BC entrance. Once I can distinguish the sparkle, I'll mark it, and access it.I want some dark to pull the contrast out from the sparkles, make it easy to spot. But, not so much as to draw the Squito that started it all. Gonna be alot of very slow crouchwalk and listening.

You scarcely have to be close. No line of sight needed. Vicinity will trigger any one of the ten allotted locations. It's up to the player to distinguish the ideal one, and trigger it there.
As I will on my Trader-Ring-Seed Map. He is quiet distant and I will need to avoid 2 other spots he can appear. Skirting them is of upmost importance. For the plan to succeed.

There are multiple spawns for Haldor, whichever you find first is the only one there will be. You don't have to guess, once you get close enough the bag icon appears. Has to do with actual distances, not just "the island". ~1500M away from Spawn and only in Black Forest.
Is it actually 1500M in the programming? I have no clue. But that is noted. If you see it pop, you can get a good key on a more precise measurement of distances altogether.

Haldor has 10 possible spawn locations that are located in Black Forests which are at least 1500 meters away from the world center.

Approaching any of these locations will permanently place Haldor there. This can happen from 320 - 453 meters away (about twice of the default minimap range) when the related zone is generated. When discovered, his bag icon will appear on the world map.
