Enemy spawn rate.

I have destroyed every nest within a a kilometer of my base, yet they still constantly come at me. Not even dangerous ones, just weak ones that are gonna smack me while trying to build.
What is with the insane spawn rate of greylings etc? I am playing SP and can barely get any mining or building done, as they constantly attack, no matter what I do.

Dig a hole and punt them into it with a shield. They don't respawn if they don't die.*

*Only applies to day spawns. Night spawns come and go no matter what you do.**

**Unless you spam campfires or inaccessible workbenches everywhere.

If you have a base that you like to work in, build a wood stake wall around the whole thing. Enemies don't bother you if they can't see you, and they don't attack walls unless they know that it's the only thing keeping them from reaching you.

When mining, dig a deep trench around the outside of the whole thing. Not only does this reveal the rest of the ore since the majority of it is underground, but it also creates a pit between you and them that most won't bother crossing.

Stakewalls around your property breaks their line of sight and they mostly leave you alone. If they become aggroed you can ignore them as long as you want, since it would take hours for them to scratch through.

For mining out in the forest, if you dig down and under the deposit they have a hard time getting down into the pit and likewise can just ignore them making noise up top. Even if they fall in, a campfire makes them scared and they won't attack. Campfire in your mining pit allows you to mine with rested, resting, and shelter buffs.
