Thanks for the help :)
"Åt ett" would make no sense though, since it is just "towards", as you wrote ;)

Maybe it's supposed to mean "onwards" or "get on your way" or as Italians might say "andiamo" Something like that. It would make sense if you were leaving them. I can't remember when they say it though, does anyone else remember if they say it when you arrive or when you leave?

Åtett år "åt ett" really doesn't make sense in Swedish as a greeting or a single phrase ('for a' or 'towards a', or 'ate a'). 'Towards' by itself would be translated as 'mot'. So maybe its just gibberish, even though we have real words like fuling and moder.

Hello ;)
This topic caught my interest - and then Google was my friend:

Disclaimer: I cannot and will not take any responsibility if this post (copied from Reddit; orginal post by Reddit user "AllanKempe") is based on facts or not. Also, i am not Swedish or from any other northern European country). So here we go:

" certain NPC says the word "åtett" as a form of greeting

No, can't be. The letter "å" is modern Scandinavian and disregarding that "åtett" looks like no Old Norse word I know.

Kyrkan tittar åtett annat håll"

Typo for "åt ett" - "towards a[n]". "

Hope this helps a bit

MFG
