Getting one-hit after dying by the creature that killed me last time because I lost my stuff and want to get it back, but the creature is standing right next to it, so it kills me straight away
Can the devs put a bit of code in to make the creatures move slightly away from the area where my stuff dropped when I died so I can go to pick it up again without being killed straight away? Maybe I'm playing it wrong, but I prefer to reclaim my stuff as soon as I drop it so I can get back to what I was doing, but this is a bit frustrating. I've only just started getting into the game, and love the atmosphere and concept so far, but it could be a little less harsh on this side, at least.

Lol reminds me when I died at entrance of a burial mound where I put a bed to respwan and a troll killed me, and kept killing and greydwarves piled on and kept dieing and respawning in the same spot for quite a few deaths and then it was like the troll and npcs felt sorry for me because they just ended up wandering off and leaving me alone

For retrieving you stuff, you can either gear up and fight to clear the area, which might not work out because you failed to do it the first time. But maybe you knocked down their health a bit before you died, and maybe you killed a few of them.
Or you can do a naked grab and dash. With nothing in your inventory, it takes only a single click to get your stuff back. If it's not a wolf or a deathsquito you can probably outrun it. Archers are harder, so stay behind tree cover as much as you can.
If something is standing right next to the tombstone, watch and wait for awhile in sneak mode. Chances are good that it will start walking around. (If it's a skeleton, it might start attacking something else which is even better.)
To help prevent tombstone camping in the future, don't run right up to the mobs, always make them run to you instead. They like to stay close to their spawn area, so if you don't pull them too far away from it, they will usually go back there. They do not intentionally camp tombstones. You just happened to die in their front yard.

A common tactical problem you just have to solve. Keep several sets of backup armor, weapons, food, and potions. At lower levels sneak bonuses from Troll armor are also very helpful. Once you know where the enemy is, it's often possible to arrange a ranged encounter to moderate the odds.

I suggested a drag corpse option; ala EverQuest

But aren´t the emotions of loss of posession and to find a way to get it back part of the puzzles of this game? I mean..it´s frustrating but fun...
Some people warned me that sometimes it´ll be just impossible to get the stuff back - so be it...

...indeed; think about it: when has running naked and fighting H2H worked out for anyone, in any game?!?

Enemies are slow and predictable. Eat before going to your body so you have some health in the first place, and having a backup set of equipment would be ideal but not necessary.
Draw the enemy away from your tombstone, bait them into attacking to slow them for a moment, and sprint to your tombstone and loot it all. You'll receive a buff for 50 seconds that reduces damage taken by 75%, reduces stamina costs of running and jumping by 75%, heal for 10 health per second, and increase carry weight by 150. Use that buff to stay alive while you equip your gear, and then kill whatever killed you.

Just wait a minute, and stay out of sight. The mob that killed you will usually move away, unless you died on its spawn point.
For that matter, you gain the "no skill loss" buff for 10 minutes after you respawn after dying; just go punch it in the face and die again until one of you gives up.
Or maybe just snag your stuff and take off running; the "corpse run" buff you get from taking your items out of the death marker is a huge stamina reduction. If you ate some stamina food before running back naked, you should be able to sprint for a considerable distance after you pick your stuff back up.

I read this type of request and report on respawning, all the time--I keep dying!!....and heading back to a grave marker.
As a player with over 1000 human hours evaluating this title[and counting!], I can only say that you need to be totally prepared before you go out exploring. To this end, a 2nd set of armor and weapons is indeed needed to re approach your gravestone... Also, even a ranged weapon could perhaps help in retrieving your loot...running naked and fighting is not the best solution; your continual dying validates how rough and mean this title can be on unprepared players. "Rested", proper food to get enough HP/Stamina are needed, always and need to be kept track of.
Valheim in, indeed, a 'brutal' survival game....and you need to be really prepared BEFORE you head out.
Good luck!

That´s why I always have a second set of at least my basic items in a trunk at my main camps. Otherwise I´d always need to build them "naked", find some food, get a haircut and then try to get my items back.
