Dvergrs - Does anyone else feel absolutely horrible for murdering these lost souls for their precious resources?

I always feel a little hollow inside after leading over a bunch of seekers/ Gjal to their little outposts and watching these wholesome guys fight for their damn lives, then once the smoke has settled, picking off their battered remains.

I really wish their was a diplomatic way to interact with them, like idk maybe you can clear out x amount of seekers that have taken over another outpost, and they'll repay you with resource.

Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

All you really need from them are the Dvergr Neddles. If there was a way to get one in the game, say from Haldor, than there would be no need to kill them. Currently, you either have to break the box and run for your life, or lead seekers over there to do the job, or just kill them yourselves. There should be a peaceful way of getting the needles.

You can steal them without killing anything, or you can simply loot a dig site that has come under attack by some tougher enemy.

This ^. We have considerable riches gained throughout our adventures. There should be a way to buy any loot we can gather from their homes / corpses (anything that aggros them). Have it be far less units available than if you slay them to encourage conflict, but give diplomatic players like myself another way. I'd like chose a path other than 'Murder Hobo' from time to time.

You can destroy the ward with refined eitr or even a cart if you have the patience. Then you can destroy all crates you wish as long as you don't hit one of the dwarves. The dwarves won't be aggrod and you could even build a base with them inside for extra protection.

Depending on your definition of cheesing/cheating, this may be that. What they could do is patch these cheeses, buff the dwarves and give the player the choice:

A: Buy a really expensive dvergr extractor from one of the in-base dwarves.
B: Engage them in a really hellish fight, even worse than now.

Work around aside, I too wish there was some other way to get their needles.

I shouldn't have to murder a being whose first encounter I had with them was them buffing me as a seeker was trying to eat both our faces.

Plus have you tried their magic mushroom recipes? To die for!

Yeah, Dvergr extractors should be buyable form Haldor, even if it costs like 12,000 coins. Some would say a Ridiculous sum, but for the right Dvergr.... extractor.

In ny opinion, you only ever need 3 anyway, so unless Eitr refinement is a recurring mechanic (And I kinda hope it is) most players will have way more than they need.

Me: pls game gib enough to line my walls, thank.

My first encounter with dvergr was at range, and since everything else in the game wants to kill me I attacked. Could probably have gone the whole game without figuring out they can be friendly, had I not already read about it.

Ha, haven't read the trophies, never thought to do that lol. Yep that description makes me want to collect their little pig tails and hang them up everywhere. Maybe I'll find a living dverger community, get rid of their ward and build a mound of trophies somewhere tasteful for them to look at and remember what happens if they look at me the wrong way

I've collected:

22+ extractors
8 Tankards
100+ Lanterns
Countless stacks of marble, copper and blue jute.

All thanks to Oden because he's the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that made this happen.

But for real, I would have an allegiance with them IF I had the choice.

Aye I am aware of the cart/ eitr method some others have pointed out, we're going to find a way to push a bunch of them up to our mountain base so we can all be together surviving the mist
