Nope. Night time is the worse time to go into the plains because of the patrols. You should have a stone walled farm set up.

If "YOU ARE NOT PREPARED" enough to get barley and flax during the day time you will certainly die a death not worthy of Odin at night.

Deathsquitos are the thing you should worry about least in that biome.

Thank you for the reply - I have wolf armor, Iron Mace, Frostier and Fang bow. The 2nd mountain I found was a big one and had 7 silver veins so far so the mining has been great. Also has the Moder alter and egg every where. Did not want to rush into the Moder fight until I had used all the new armor and weapons some. Was hopping the Deathsquitos had same issue as birds so I could know it was safer to move during rain. Night was not a option but included it because birds do not fly at night.

This. Deathsquitos have been nerfed into carebear mode.

Used to be the deathsquitos would hit for 50+ dmg on iron armor, now they tickle. Even when they did all that damage they still got one shot by draugrs fang. So it was just a game of wait for it to attack and then loose before it hits you. Now you can almost ignore them.
