Stop fixing something that is NOT broken!
Seriously. I don't understand. There many troubles and sissues that players ask you to fix or rebalance, like fightin/grinding/building etc. But blocking and dodging system were perfect already, why the hell did you broke it?...
Ok, to be clear. I like the DS style of gameplay, when you can pick a hero with no armor, or really light one and shield, so you can block/dodge everything if you are skillfull enough. But now no matter how good you are in blocking, even with a perfect parry monster can kill you.
You know why it was made?... To make a game LONGER. So you will have to grind resources a few hours more to create a better armor etc. It's a very bad way to prolong the game time, instead of making new biomes/bosses/quests etc

Agree.. getting killed by 2 star draugr bowmen, when you block the arrow is really annoying. I don't really like the nerfs the did.. they like to claim they are making a game for a small clique group of players.. then sold millions of copies and still seem to think they can make a game for a few hundred hardcore players.. as you advance in the game it becomes clear really quickly, that they just didn't test their patch. The reversal on the stamina drain in patch 19 really shows how the mistakes were taken. That has at least reduced some of the worst aspects but across the board, the patch has pretty much ruined alot of the fun of the game. Making it very tedious and grindy.

The reason there is so much whining on these forums is because they made this game with a small clique in mind. Yet... millions it wasn't really designed for bought it without researching because of hype and then found it isn't what they wanted. After getting to play H&H, the update really isn't bad at all. Just need to learn this isn't like most console games, or WoW. You are not a god, not indestructible, not special. Preparation, strategy, carefulness, and thinking about your actions are key. Zerging does not work.

Why would devs dare experiment new mechanics in their game that is still under development, truly outrageous.

Dodging everything has been the only way to survive until you get the Blackmetal Shield to block things that actually do major damage. Block was nerfed, not reworked. If it was reworked, max level Block skill should block all damage, and be extremely useful with all weapons at the cost of stamina. The problem isn't the Shields, it's the skill progression and how slowly it progresses as a pure melee player. Parrying shouldn't even be possible until a certain point of Block skill, and parrying should level up your block skill faster. This would be a proper rework.

Blocking I understand, while I think the hatred of the new system is overblown I did like how you were rewarded for your timing much more in the old system, whereas now it's just straight up better to be aggressive and kill enemies faster rather than actually play a mix of both offense and defense.
...but I strongly disagree with not wanting to fix dodging, dodging is both unintuitive and pointless since there was no point to dodging since parry did everything better.
I also think that last paragraph was pulled out of your ass, Saying they nerfed shields to make the game longer makes so much less sense than them nerfing it because there was no point in using anything without a shield as they're just that strong, imagine if they introduced a new 2-handed weapon and no one used it because you can't use a shield with it. There are things that really were put in the game just to prolong it like inability to teleport metals, but this would be such a weird and roundabout way to make the game longer when people are already making the best armor they can regardless. No one can parry every single attack, going to the Swamp and later biomes with just troll leather isn't as common as people think so people actually would already be upgrading their armor.
Using the "they just want to make the game longer" criticism only works when you don't just throw it out at the drop of a hat.
