Is Mistlands worth starting a new game?
Or should I wait for next update?

its worth it for BLACK MARBLE alone. but unless you explored everything in your world (or most of it) a new game isnt even needed.

Maybe I'm misinterpreting the tone question, but it sounds like you wouldn't be playing the game for fun, but just to reach a goal. In which case I would say no.

Then I don't understand the point of the question. Some love ML, some hate it. The rest of the game is the same, so if you enjoy it, then play it.
There are some items in it that are (IMO) game changers, which might make a difference.

I'm biased against the mistlands, I'm hoping updates/transition into the next biome make it worthwhile.
If you want to start a new game then do it. If you have to ask then my answer is no.

On the other hand, I'm not sure why you're having such a hard time catching my point. I wanted to know if it was worth to start a new game. Simply read the title. Would I want to start a new game if I only played it to achieve a goal, as you wrote? That makes absolutely no sense, dude. I don't know a single person who would enjoy something so pointless.

That's like asking how long is a piece of string. We really need to know your criteria, not ours. ...

Like FissionChips said, we need more info.
How much have you played? Do you have your own world to play on? How far have you progressed already in the past, and on your current world? Have you explored mistlands regions before the update?

But I answered that already in post #3. It's been a while, and I haven't played Mistlands yet.

As always, devs have said that new worlds are better for the procedural generation, in experiencing the content as was designed. While old worlds and their mistland areas can be converted and added to, fresh generation was recommended as results might not be the best. Plus, converted areas only works for unexplored regions, and explored regions of mistlands prior to the update, will not convert with the appropriate dungeons and POIs, and likely remain empty. People have also complained about converted terrain generation being unfriendly for sailing and landing ashore, but I'm not sure proper generated terrain is much better, hehe, that might just be the way the biome is and is meant to be.
As to replaying the whole world with a new character to fight all the bosses prior, that is up to you of course, though how soon you experience the Mistlands content may be dependent on how fast you can progress through the other biomes. Personally, I started a new run for a new character on a new world seed, like with all the major updates. Playing Valheim over and over is part of the fun, that it can be grindy, but relaxing, curiously interesting, and beautiful. But others may just get bored at having to grind or repeat stuff again, and so just want to get straight to the new content with a geared up old character. And so it depends on what you'd like to do.

Thanks! That was the type of response I was hoping for, and I understand your point. I usually enjoy starting over with each update, but this time I wasn't sure.

I just started a new game last week. It was my first time playing with mods -- just a couple of quality of life improvements like quick stacking and crafting from containers. Those tiny improvements were revolutionary. I took my time, sailed all over the map, gathered my supplies, and built my best base ever. It was the most fun I've had in Valheim in the hundreds of hours I've played. That is, until I got to Mistlands and all the fun vanished. I don't mind that it's hard, but I'd rather have tough fights against enemies I can see and on terrain I can traverse. It didn't help that the seed god was not kind to me and it took dozens of hours on multiple islands just to find a handful of mines. I finally cleared 4 mines and had enough material for most of the endgame gear but by then I completely lost interest in my playthrough. Mistlands are just not a place I want to spend time. It's such a shame because I love so much of the rest of game.

I love the mistlands but I personally don't really see a reason to start a new game if you are playing Solo.
If you are playing with friends; absolutely start a new game. There is nothing better than grinding up to and entering the Mistlands for the first time with a group. Especially if you have been able to avoid spoilers. You will laugh, cry and die together.

Ha well, just recall the new content is the next latest biome in the progression, so could be a while before you get to enjoy it, but as long as you have enjoyed playing the rest of the game over again, you should be good. It was a pretty beefy update with a biome's worth of content, all of which is pretty distinct from the other biomes. Mistlands will be having you form new love/hate relationships with the 10th world.
