How do I roof this?

It alternates between the long pieces of cord wood and short pieces. The first layer of 26 degree 'flat' roof pieces looks fine rotating every 3rd piece by 1 turn. However, adding the next layer, starts to leave small gaps at the bases using the same method.
I don't quite get the two triangle pieces. Doesn't seem to fit exactly. Maybe I use all triangles and nothing else? and no I am not starting all over. Would like to get it to fit right, but if it has too be all mashed up, I guess I'll deal with that. As long as I am not repairing walls later.

I haven't built anything to brag about, but I'm loving the hell out of this thread. Thanks to OP and all.

I make test roofs on the ground when I am trying to learn a new style.

M. Red your buildings are awesome. I moved the fire to the side and like it there. The smoke hits my walkway and creeps left until it disipates. I had Draugr archers pay a visit and put my archery platform to the test.
Next project is to beef up my storage building defenses about 200 meters from this site.

you can close the roof with supports down and then fit smaller corewood onto the poles to create a ring. on wich you can continue roofing
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2645772977
the smaller corewood pieces are freeplaced
(they count as supported by only touching the poles)
freeplaced on the 26° corewood roof support and they clip into the poles which supports them
otherwise leave the ring open, put 2m poles up and then again 26° poles until the tips a touching, put a roof on top (wich is fiddly) to get a nice center chimney
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2633384562
ignore the outer corewood pieces they are just for the looks

If the fire is overlapping with the log poles used to support the rooftop, it might cause a glitch with the smoke clearing and put out the fire. There is nothing I can see from your screenshots to indicate smoke is getting trapped around the fire.

You can possibly hide a wood iron pole inside of the log pole. If you have the iron, this will give ground level support to the first roof layer.
Cool, Iron is soon as I am set up close to a swamp. I'll keep tweaking this as I get upgrades.

I actually got it closed. JUst had to run 2 core wood beams up to the center. Then my fire went out. Amazing, cause its a high ceiling and lots of huge windows everywhere for smoke to leave.
I had to remove half the circle I closed. Then fire lit again. Have to see if rain puts it out. I have a ladder I kept that can reach top from inside to tweak things later. Building is so much fun in this game. Some genious should make a program that tests out structure and smoke ventilation before you start on a project. Still fun.
Going to try putting fire along wall. If I place a panel above a window and the fire, the smoke should deflect off that panel and vent outside. Something to try.

@Luward Looks good.
I don't have a bonfire yet. Had to leave hole in middle cause its red and won't take that final layer up there. Think I will add 4 square beams in center to frame my fire and put a small roof in middle on 2nd floor.

Would have made it if I hadn't gone 3 stories of core wood straight up. The top poles could have been the 26 degree or 45 to slope it in and heep height at 2 and 1/2 stories.
Not redoing it - it will be fine for now. I am before Elder so keeping it all open above 1st floor. Have winding stairs that go to ring platforms all around 2nd and 3rd floor. When I am too lazy or busy to cove outside for a raid and just want to arrow everything.
So not my best work here but learned quite a bit. Thanks everyone. Can't wait till I get stone. :)

You can use a 1-meter floor or wall to snap roof tiles to the center of the previous roofing layer. Here's my worst looking circular roof. I don't think I will use 45 degree roofing for circles anymore. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2649688572
Build the 2-meter sections straight up and build the 4-meter sections up until they overlap without gaps with the 2-meter section, then use the 1-meter floor or wall to shorten them to 2-meter sections as well, removing sections from the next layer as the sections start to overlap.

Or you could just leave a hole in the middle, make several levels and put a bonefire in the center on the ground floor, here an example:

(i didn't fully decorate it out at the time, as you can see...)

you can try to fit the same roof pieces into the gaps by using "free placing" and check if it looks good afterwards
i needed time to figure out rounded roofs for my round huts. sometimes snapping and partially needed to fit stuff in using free placement (holding left shift - deactivates snapping)
for me the third layer was the hardest to get right
the 4th and top layer was placed from the outside freely
edit: i also placed 26° corewood supports in the roof tiles after placing the first row. helped me a lot as support and guiding lines

the 26° corewood poles snapped to the roof tiles

the 26° corewood poles build up allmost to the top

its mostly trial and error but after some time you might find ways to get it done
