Smelter and Kiln question
Hi! I just started playing recently, and I have a question that google isn't answering at the moment.
I know dropped items despawn eventually, so I was wondering: With kilns and smelters (and anything else I haven't unlocked yet, I've only beaten the first boss) if I were to get it running and go exploring, would the coal/metal despawn if I don't come back before a certain time to pick it up? Also would it despawn if I quit the game? I'm just playing single player if that makes a difference. Thanks!

also, once you get far enough away from an item on the ground it's despawn timer pauses. i've tossed things on the ground while out exploring far from home, and come back hundreds of days later to find them still laying there.

things DONT despawn close to workbenches buildings so should be fine... but for neatness chuck it in a chest .. allows take all for stocking back up :-)

I fire up my kiln and smelter pretty much every morning before heading out to do my thing. When I set out on my Karve to 'map' the coastline of the island I started on I did that, and it took me 9 (game) days to get around the whole thing. All my charcoal and ingots were waiting for me to pick up when I returned.
