Disappearing hooded figure?
I am quite new to this game, and am enjoying it a lot.
I was wandering through the Black Forest at night, when I saw what looked like a human in a hood a short distance in front of me, possibly holding something like a spear upright in their hand. It was completely still. I though it might have been a statue, but when I took a few steps forward, it disappeared. The figure had a very clean silhouette, and definitely didn't look like any of the creatures I've seen so far.
I know there is a Trader in the game, but I haven't encountered him yet. Was it likely that this is what I saw?

It's the fabled One Eyed Monster that was stalking you. AKA: Odin. Try shooting at him next time you see him.

Odin's keeping tabs on you while you are going about your time in Valheim, observing & waiting. Checking on your progress.
Best to kill something in front of him as a small sacrifice as he watches silently judging you from the shadows. Kill one of his many enemies, and throw him the trophy. He will vanish if you approach him, But he will return yet again, watching you ever so carefully.
He has chosen you, for he sees greatness in you, but also wants to challenge you, and now preparing you, priming you even, for what is to come, for what lies ahead will be no easy feat Sharpen your weapons, gather & hunt your food, build your shelter.
