New player - Boar taming not working?
I need 50 leather scraps to get the tanning thing, but I'm struggling to find the boars required to get 50 leather scraps.
I did some reading last night about taming and breeding, so I now have two wild boars in two pens, with a heap of red mushrooms around them, and nowhere near fire.
It's been two in game nights which I've sat through (due to no fire) and they haven't eaten a single shroom. Tried being close and far away.
Struggling to do anything to this first boss so I am hoping that upgrading the work bench gives me some stronger options, but these boars just won't eat a damn thing.
Am I doing something wrong?

Try verifying your game files. I got my boars to eat fruits after the update but it sure did seem like it was taking awhile to tame them as well...Yep that was the first thing I did , but no errors on Local Files. TY

Can't tame Boar anymore
Hi, i've been trying to tame some boars for like.. 2 hours..I've been trying to tame some in the wild, then i tryed to trap one, droping some food next to it too.
But it seems that he just want to escape when he's calm.
There is no fire next to him, i've even tryed to destroy the fire in the house.
Any help ?

You need to use carrots to tame them now. Berries and such don't work anymore.

It's been reported that Boars will only tame from carrots or turnips since the update. Perhaps give them a try and see if it solves the issue?

Thanks for this. I've not seen any carrots or turnips yet - Do you know if these grow in the meadows, or if there's a way for me to find these prior to defeating the first boss?

Lol, I just spent hours building pens and waiting for them to eat berries and shrooms to no effect. Off to get carrot seeds I go, thx for the heads up :)

Carrots (more specifically, carrot seeds) are found in the Black Forest, turnip seeds in Swamp. You have to farm the seeds to get veggies from them, which requires a cultivator, which requires bronze. Unfortunately, the tool you need for mining metals requires the drop left by defeating the first boss.

I tamed a boar tonight with red mushrooms, so that's still an option after the H&H update.

Mine wont eat Raspberries even after HH bugfix update so still bugged. Will only breed with Carrots. Also the piggies are antisocial and sitting opposite ends of pen. I think IG have nurfed breeding.
