Had one rented some month ago to play with a friend. Totally worth it! Nothing better when you come online just to see your friend built a huge turnip farm with 100s of plants or a pig pen filled up with 2star pigs :D

Every big provider will do it, compare prices and check features. Make sure you can cancel the contract monthly or daily.

We can't really recommend hosting services for you because selecting a host is really a personal choice with practical restrictions.

Shop around. Find out hosts with servers relatively close to you for better ping of course. People throwing out host suggestions may be with servers on the other side of the world after all and thus not really feasible to you.


Decide what their services involve and its features. Some like more manual control of their server while others like to use an interface designed by a host to use. Customer support also can be a big factor for some, especially if encountering issues such as crashes, server slice (you usually rent a slice not a whole server as that'd be expensive) and more.

All in all its something really you need to do the best due diligence on yourself.

It's probably okay to do for 1 month if you don't want to host the server on your own PC. I personally had a server hosted on my own PC for a couple months and it was hard on my PC, had some server problems, but it was still very much successful for the first month or two. No idea who to recommend but i'm sure any popular service will do. Get used to knowing where the files and data is for your world so that you may host it on your own PC in the future.
