Clear world
I've been playing over 500 hours and now my world is clear. 20th february was the last time my world was ok. Tried to use backups in the game and there was no point. I foud .bd-backups in steamcloud for 20th and 19th february (160mb) and im sure its actual version of my world, but i dunno how to use them. tried to copy those backups in Steam\userdata\933525632\892970\remote\worlds, AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim\worlds and AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim\worlds_local. Does anyone know how to use steam backups from steamcloud?

You probably recovered the .old file which is just the world not the stuff you add to it

ok i hvent played for a while ..untill three days ago..so i backed up (using the Valheim interface) and heres what i discovered (note i use steam cloud!!)
"C:\Users\"UserName"\AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim\worlds" has a recent file called steam_autocloud.vdf from yesterday..
EVERYTHING ELSE IS FROMm 2022!!!!
however
"C:\Users\"UserName"\AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim\worlds_local" has all my manual backups from the valheim interface..
the format is worldname in my case Valheim and a lotta numbers.. example "Valheim_backup_20230310-163052" with.dbf as hidden extension size about 86 Meg
and
"Valheim_backup_20230310-163052.fwl" size 1Kb
from that it appears only the manual backups are working, and in my case the Steam cloud is visible when i follow https://store.steampowered.com/account/remotestorage with recent dates!!
if OP cannot find world file on Steampowered. (as stated) then only manual backups seem to exist !!!!

Oh wait.... i looked closely at original post.
try this ..you have already copied what you think are valid backups quote " I foud .bd-backups in steamcloud for 20th and 19th february (160mb) and im sure its actual version of my world, "
so
1- copy them somewhere safe.not in valheim structure. ie desktop
2- now start game use normal character.
3- in worlds section, "copy to local" the latest file (dont worry we using it as a placeholder) take note of its name exactly! (important)
4- once done click "back" then "back" until you get to option the quit game
5- Quit game
6- disable steam cloud for valheim
7- start valheim use normal character
8- use latest local save (from step 3-)continue to just make sure game loads starts correctly.
9- when game starts correctly . Quit game ..save if you like
10- OPEN TWO file explorers lets think of them as a) and b)
11- in a)-goto "C:\Users\"UserName"\AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim\worlds_local"
12- rename the .dbf AND .fwl files with .old so they look like this im using my f
"original filename.dbf.old" and "original filename.fwl.old"
13- in b) goto desktop (or wherever you saved steam cloud files) COPY...do not move..COPY the dbf file
14-PASTE it into a)
15- rename your PASTE'd dbf file the same as the tested working .dbf without the added .dbf.old or the .fwl.old
16- Cross your finger or whatever is local custom...
17-Restart valheim.. and let US know how you go!!

C:\Users\"Computer Name"\AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim\worlds
Is where my default save data folders are.
Inside the folder I have 2 different kinds of backups.
The older ones that are "worldname".db.old and "worldname".fwl.old
You would just delete the ".old" part for both files and it would be a previous backup save.
There is a "newer" interface inside the game where you can actually hit a drop down on the world and see the back ups and launch the game from said backup though. I don't know if it's the same for cloud storage, since it's highly recommended to NOT use cloud storage, as most of the save issues are from the cloud storage.
