You mean you started trying to tame a boar?

If the boar is still untamed you should go far away and only check the progress using sneak.

If the sneak eye indicator is completely closed and the boar is still not calming down, there must be something else scaring it.

Also don't go to far away, stay within vision range or else the game will put it in stasis.

Don't have any fire or torches near it, and try feeding it mushrooms/carrots/turnips as well. If it can see you (eye icon) while you're taming it, it'll get startled so just sit back somewhere and wait.

Having the same trouble actually ... can't seem to tame the boar.
He had mushrooms, carrots but after day 6 in game still only 30% tame! How long does it take ?
Also the other boars will not follow me into the pen they are running off.
Sorry to 'hijack' your thread, but didn't wanna make another one about same problem.

you need a stack of 20 rasiberrries to fully tame.

no fire/mob. the cage should be small. mine was 3x3 size

Are we speaking about taming or breeding?

Taming:
- Since the last patch, boars can be tamed again using raspberries, blueberries and mushrooms.
- On a new world, the process of taming seems to not have changed (I'm not sure about duration, perhaps two in-game days). I just crouched all day and night, and fed them three times I think (6 raspberries for two boars).
- Once tamed, boars become more friendly than before, I believe. Mine followed me from their spawning islet to the nearby rock where I built their sty (which has also a workbench and a bed). They even enter inside.
- They are attacked and turn hostile/are panicked by any other creature but deers and boars: mostly greylings and nekkes in the Meadows.
- I panicked one when I set up a campfire next to the sty. I thought I read that tamed boars wouldn't mind fire, or was it torches? It calmed down immediately when I removed the fire.

Breeding:
- Nothing looks changed. Perhaps their fecondity was increased, but I'm not sure.
- I keep feeding them with raspberries, as before. They breed fast.
- to protect them against any danger, I built fences all around the rock. When they get aroused, not only the monster attack the fence, but they also attack it on their side.

You cannot be too far away from the boars while they are being tamed, if you go too far the progress will pause. It's best to just have them close to your house but also away from any source of fire.

If they aren't really close to your base and you want them to be then you can build a fenced path and use torches to scare them in the direction you want or if they aren't tamed just use a shield to block their attacks and lead them to your base.

taming was tweaked a couple of patches back and im not aware of any significant changes to it in HnH other than the requirement to use the butchers knife to slaughter tamed animals. initially you could only tame with Carrots after HnH but that has now been patched and changed.
the significant change that was made was essentially a nerf on breeders design at the time; the way animals feed was changed to make sure they have enough space to feed and the food was on the same level as them. essentially nerfing single or double tile breeders.
breeding mechanics in general remain the same:
create a fenced off area and lure your chosen beast into in then close it fully in. throw in relevant food and retreat to a distance where the animal wont get "agro".
also be aware that animals have LOS and the current agro trigger is about 6-10 metres.
once thats all sorted you need to stay within visual range of the animal; essentially close enough to see the yellow hearts floating from it. a 0 star boar will take about 2 days to tame...more stars= longer taming and agro to the animal will halt (not wipe) taming until it calms down again. dont have fire nearby; or if you are planning to wait the taming out ie: with a wolf you can then make follow you; make a small cabin with a bed and have a fire in there which will break LOS and also give you some safe space.
boars will tame to red mushrooms (not yellow), raspberries and blueberries. and yes you can throw a stack in.
current breeding limit is 6 in a 10*10 area i believe. beyond that amount they simply wont breed.
thats when you build a raised breeder and create an "infinite" breeding system which works for both boar and wolves.
Lox tame in exactly the same way except they are way harder to trap as they do so much damage. so best way is to dig a hole and trap them in it.

this breeder design works still in HnH and will produce essentially unlimited boars...it can easily be modified to work with wolves as well (they require a taller area to feed as they are a larger model) which you can see in the background to the left
