Can you use workbench/forge under stone?

Can i use the forge and workbenches etc under a stone floor? Im planning to do a stone castle in plains, wooden roofs look disgusting on castles.

Yeah, stone counts as roofing for all purposes.

Yep stone works perfectly fine, provided it has enough support from something else.

The big floor tiles will span a surprising distance just supporting each other, especially in a staggered hexagonal arrangement. Once a floor is complete and touching all the walls I can generally get away with just a single central pillar.
