The heck are you wearing to get oneshot through a blocking shield? Troll armor? Are you even supposed to be on the mountain yet? Do you have good enough food for the stage of the game you're at? O.o

Also, No, You don't need frost resist mead every time. Bring some wood and stone on the corpse run and drop campfires as you go- They'll stave off the freezing debuff. And as mentioned by others, Wear your old gear, Don't just go running in naked if you have other options.

A video game is for enjoyment. If you don't like doing corpse runs, don't do them. Just fly there. Since it is a single player game, it doesn't matter, all that matters is you are having fun.

uhm, is building game... so... BUILD

First thing I did in mountain biome was carve a trail up to the top area. Smooth path, with markers and lights.

Second, was carve a big chunk of the mountain down, until it had sheer sides, then built a shack on top. With a portal. Ended up building 4 more shacks eventually.

All with portals.

So corpse runs became "portal-in-and-then-get corpse" runs. Which still sucked, but were much more manageable.

Whine less, build more.

Yep, the mountain part must be the worst in the game. Not saying it gets better after that but won't be worse and hey you won't need a potion to get your stuff back. If you play solo I'm sorry, even duo that part can get impossible to fight off.

Proper gear, proper foods, proper tactics, patience.

It kinda sounds like you're doing no food, naked corpse runs. That's generally never going to end well. Backup gear is vital to have in case of scenarios like yours. It also sounds like you're maybe not adequately geared for the mountains either. Iron gear (ideally upgraded) should make navigating the mountains easier, assuming you're not already using it.

In cases like this it would be good to have a second (or more) gear (armor and a weapon) lying in a chest.

Do corpse runs with gear (just use the stuff from the previous biome) and good food. If you get one shot from a golem you are not ready for the mountains. Upgrade your iron armor before going in there and use the best food you can craft, for swamp level that should be turnip stew, black soup and sausages (serpent stew if you have any is better ofc).

Stop trying to do corpse runs naked. LOL
