I've started over a number of times, enough that I really appreciate it when the rng hands me a gift. On this run there was a nice farm with a maypole close to the Elder, at the foot of a silver bearing mountain with several frost caves. After sailing and carting my iron back, I don't have to move my base for awhile.

Other times, I discovered my first swamp and found a turnip sitting right on the edge, just a little way down the coast from the trader. Sometimes it's the perfect view. In mistlands it was a sheltered alcove where I put my first mushroom farm.

Sometimes things just line up perfectly. I love procedural maps.
